Abstract


With the development of LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) technology, LCD becomes the protagonist of the display market quickly ,which has the characteristics of high resolution, small volume, light weight, no radiation, plate, and low power consumption , from cell phones to portable game machines, from manual operation platform to the ATM(Automatic Teller Machine)and so on, LCD is everywhere.Because the type of LCD is varied, and the display of timing and color information are diverse from each other, the LCD detection technology of most small and medium enterprises is man-machine interactive artificial semi-automatic detection technology. At present, these detection devices are slow, functions are single and different types of LCD need different detection devices. Based on the analysis of current LCD detection device, this paper developed a general LCD detection system which is in allusion to the current mainstream LCD. The LCD detection platform which is developed by this paper is set up by embedded NiosII microcontroller processor and FPGA ( Field Programmable Gate Array)together.Subject research content includes: (1) researched on the different LCD driver interface, functional requirement of the detection system, put forward the total design scheme of the LCD screen detection system; (2) in the FPGA design of LCD controller with SOPC characteristics. The controller supports Avalon bus and proprietary DMA(Direct Memory Access) channel. Internal configuration register group supports personnel to set parameters of display timing, color depth and so on flexibly; (3) Completed all kinds of embedded RAM LCD driver database building, serial communication and key processing design; (4) successfully transplanted SD card IP core to application engineering and completed the file read operation; (5) tested detection system and analysis results. The LCD detection system by this tipic researched laid a good foundation to the further development of general LCD detection system.It can support various mainstream LCD and be suitable for small and medium enterprise which products LCD and application enterprise for LCD detection on line.
