Abstract


Presently, the commercial banks in China face huge pressure of competition from the banks all over the world. Bank industry has the characteristics of high debt rate, and high risk. It is an emergent problem for Chinese banks to use the advanced management ideas and experiences of banks all over the world for reference, to control risks effectively, and hence to raise their competitive abilities.Chinese commercial banks are under the planned economy for a long time. So, their risk management systems are not perfect. The consciousness of risk management is not very strong. Their mechanisms for internal control are not perfect. A effective framework of risk management has not formed. In recent years, all kinds of risks has caused great losses to Chinese banks industry. Low-level risk management has damaged the reputations of Chinese commercial banks.Enterprise risk management is a kind of comprehensive method that can integrate all kinds of risk management methods. It plays a key role in raise the risk management level for Chinese commercial banks. Under the circumstances of financial crisis and financial globalization, it is very meaningful for us to discuss how to fulfill the enterprise risk management successfully in Chines commercial banks.Under the foundation of making a review to the relative studies, this thesis analyzes the theoretical foundation of enterprise risk management. Then the developing situations, risk management level, and the existing problems in risk management in Chinese commercial banks are analyzed. At last, the suggestions for perfecting the ERM in Chinese commercial banks are put forward.
