Abstract


With the thriving development of municipal economy, successive improvement of living standard, and increasing of leisure time as well, citizens in Chongqing who have showed much more care for health are growing in number, with awareness of "willing to spend on health" deepen in heart..In later 90’s of the 20th century, commercial Sports Fitness Clubs began to emerge, taking on a favorable trend. However, the development still stays in the primary stage, with all aspects quite unimproved and numerous problems presenting. Therefore, in five central regions of Chongqing, surveys on 500 consumers, 100 directors, and 30 managers, from more than 30 typical commercial Sports Fitness Clubs, by way of documentation, interview (for specialists), questionnaire, statistics and etc, have been conducted, and it turns out to be unfavorable with problems as follow: serious similarity, blind investment, backward law and regulation, single marketing mode, insufficient investment in scientific research and new product development, small club scales (bigger proportion in investment under 2 million), unreasonable distribution(incentive distribution in perspective regions but decentralized ), inconvenient transportation, great transient population, lacking managerial and administrative personnel who are proficient in both gym and management, low salary for excellent directors, which leads to serious brain drain, and fault age of consumers. After careful analysis of this phenomenon, the author of this thesis offered the following relative suggestions on the development Status of commercial Sports Fitness Clubs. 1. Macroeconomic regulation and control of these commercial Sports Fitness Clubs should be reinforced by departments related.2. Internal administration and management should be strengthened by Commercial sports fitness clubs themselves.3. Connection between clubs and that with the outside should be strengthened.4. Technologies applied should be advanced, and added value of products should be increased.5. Flexible financing mode should be adopted in line with practical development status of clubs. The advantageous ones should finance by coming into the market to the best of their abilities.6. Combination established should be employed on the basis of marketing policy stipulated by clubs themselves.7. Network management should be realized.8. Management mechanism of administrative venture should be constituted.9. Transformation of citizens’ consumption concept to sports fitness should be inducted, and consciousness of sports fitness should be enhanced.10. Software building should be intensified, and service quality should be improved.
