Abstract


WRF (Weather Research Forecasting Model) mode is responsible for the maintenance and technical support for a new generation of mesoscale models by NCAR / PSU , but due to the complexity of the calculation , and therefore require more memory and more computing power . This article briefly describes the WRF, cluster and parallel computing knowledge to discuss the 64 GNU / Linux - based Beowulf cluster system and its related technologies , on this basis , to build a 3- node Beowulf cluster , and focused on the \WRF real-time forecasting system functional requirements , system processes , as well as the WRF triple nested program , described in detail the specific implementation process . Also the depth of a single system image cluster monitoring and job management . Shaanxi Province WRF real - time forecasting system can automatically obtain information to complete the triple nested calculation , and the calculation results of the various areas of real-time rendering released as a web page into a variety of intuitive graphical products . After more than a year of tests showed that the system for the process of general and severe weather in Shaanxi Province has a very good indication the role a good reference value of many meteorological elements forecast .
