Abstract

As communications technology from analog to digital rapid change , more contemporary radio communication system by the software can be achieved . The Software Radio technology is proposed in recent years , a new architecture for wireless communications . Its basic concept is that the hardware as the basic platform for wireless communication , while as much as possible a wireless communication function is realized by software . Software radio technology in recent years has made tremendous progress , and caused great concern and widespread interest in the field , including military communications , personal mobile communications , microelectronics and computer . This paper describes a software radio modem system design . The article first introduces the concept of software radio , the characteristics , the basic structure , and then analyzed and given modem theory , then discusses in detail the system design , the main module approach , FPGA key part of the design ideas and algorithms , and focused used by the digital signal processing techniques , and related theories include orthogonal modulation and demodulation techniques, the differential coding technique , the matched filter technique , spread spectrum technology , and the symbol synchronization techniques . And the simulation and experimental results verify the feasibility of the design , practical meet system performance indicators . The system is modular in design , as much as possible using existing programmable devices to achieve a variety of functions through software programming , making the system simple structure , stable performance , and easy to implement.
