Abstract


With the rapidly development of the global economy, energy security issues and growing environmental pollution has become serious obstacles to economic development of many countries. In order to alleviate these crises, various countries are actively looking for clean, renewable alternative energy. Bio-fuels can not only be used as alternatives of fossil fuel, but also can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and clean air, so that it has attracted the favor of many countries and become the focus of research and application of the world. China attaches great importance to the development of bio-fuels industry and the development of bio-fuels industry is very fast. But China’s bio-fuel business are at the initial stage and have some problems such as the highly cost and single structure of raw materials, backward technology and lack of by-product recycling.Based on this background, this thesis do research on China’s bio-fuel business development model, Main content of the study is divided into three parts. First of all, analyze the development status of bio-fuels business at home and abroad, identify shortcomings of the development of China’s bio-fuel business. Then, the cost structure of China’s bio-fuel companies were analyzed, focusing on analysis of raw materials for business costs. Secondly, the development model of China’s bio-fuel companies have been studied, including feedstock selection, plant scale, plant location, business organization model and internal operation model. Finally, made policy recommendations to bio-fuel business, and proposed recommendations separately by the different characteristics of the bio-ethanol and bio-diesel business.The main innovations are as follows:1. Induced foreign bio-fuel business’ size and production, bio-ethanol and bio-diesel business’ feedstock cost were analyzed separately, proposed feedstock strategies in the short, medium and long-term, as companies choose to provide a certain amount of raw materials for reference.2. The model of bio-ethanol and bio-diesel business is decided according to the different characteristics. Proposed the organization model as "farmers + raw materials cultivation base business + bio-fuels business + colleges of higher learning (or research institutes) + logistics business (+by-product processing enterprises) + bio-fuels mix business."4. Proposed policy recommendations for the whole bio-fuel industry. Then, proposed recommendations separately by the different characteristics of the bio-ethanol and bio-diesel business. Provide some references for national authorities to develop policies to related industries.
