With the growing demand for mobile services, a wide range of Handheld Mobile Devices based on embedded been continuously used in various industries, geographic information service, especially, is in advance of other fields. This subject is based on the needs of practicality items in some fact operation, aiming at Handheld Mobile Devices for embedded, to study a potential way that can achieve the low power consumption of geographic information services. Namely, under conditions as far as possible to guarantee the endurance time, through the information interactive from the command and dispatch center, the Embedded Handheld Mobile Devices can obtain the orders from the command and dispatch center in real time as well as theirs own position information or other mobile devices position information, which can display under the geographic information frame.Embedded Handheld Mobile Devices operate in the mobile environments, usually, they can only be served by the limited battery power supply. In software, the process of geographic information display involves a large number of floating point operations, it is a process that rely heavily on the CPU operational capability and memory capacity of devices, I/O throughput, the energy consumption is very considerable; At the same time, power consumption, GPS data collection of the Embedded Handheld Mobile Devices itself, as well as the communication process between the command and control center, should not be ignored. Therefore, we need software to solute:1. How to reduce CPU’s processing load as far as possible while show large-scale geographic information, which can meet the functional requirement.2. How to reduce the RAM consumption as far as possible while show large-scale geographic information, which can meet the functional requirement.3. How to reduce the read-write frequency of the device’s exterior storage as far as possible.4. How to control the communication process between device and center.5. How to control the GPS data acquisition of the device.6. How to control the exterior component of the device.Based on the above, this subject aims at the points to geographic information framework and technology effectuation, focusing on how to use software programming tools, in the conditions of a limited energy supplying, achieve a long period of geographic information display for Embedded Handheld Mobile Devices. Videlicet, to carry out the possibility of low-power consumption geographic information display. This subject brings forward possible means, which based on the Embedded Handheld Mobile Devices exploitation and software effectuation, the means can be used for the scenes similar to the mobile interactive central of control model, such as logistics, exploration, public security and other fields.
