Abstract

Engine shafting is one of the primary causes of the car’s torsional vibration and yawp. It can deeply affact the car’s qulities.During the past 20 years, experts internal and abroad studied a lot at the engine shafting, but most of them based on the linear theory. Engine shafting is a complicated nonlinear system, the reaserches that consider the engine shafting as a linear system couldn’t satisfy the develop requirements, Therefore, the research on the nonlinear torsional vibration of the engine shafting is of more significance. To research the dynamical properties of the torsional system, every part of the engine shafting system is transformed to the equivalent system. Because it’s a multi-DOF system, the system is simplied on the premise of keeping the natural frequency and vibration model. Determining the structure parameters of the component, the 6-dimentional discrete trosional vibration model with concentrate mass was established and the nonlinear dynamic equations were constructed.Using the average method to solve the multi-DOF equation, the stationary solution of the system with primary resonance can be obtained. Contrast the resonance characteristics of linear system and nonlinear system. Considering influences of the gear back-lish function, mesh damp, the depth of the gear’s crack, and the exciting moment to the response of the system, the changes of these parameters affect the system resonance area, resonance range, band range differently. So we can design the syetem parameter or diagnose the system faults though the change of the parameters. The stabilities of the stationary solutions were disscussed. The bifurcation equation of the nonlinear system is obtained. Using the singularity theory method, the bifurcation properties of the system were analyzed. And the transition set of the bifurcation system was obtained. The whole parametric plane is divided into several different persistent regions. The bifurcation diagrams in each region were given. Give some system parameters, the response that we wanted can be obtained.
