Metal/K-PSS inorganic polymer composites are fabricated by normal pressure method, using silica sol, caoline, potassium hydrate, Cr powder and stainless steel graticule. The relationship between the processing parameter of preparation the basal body, the content and shape of intensive component and mechanical properties of the composites is studied by means of XRD,SEM as well as three point bending and tensile tests. The influence of heat treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties are investigated. The experimental results show that: when solidiflying and curing temperatures are 50, 60, 70 and 80℃, respectively, compression strength and elastic modulus of K-PSS increase with the increase of temperature. Furthermore, when Si/K is 2, 1.6 and 1.2, the mechanical properties decrease with the increasing content of alkali. The highest compression strength of K-PSS is 106.2MPa, and its flexural strength is 13.5MPa.Flexural strength of Cr_p/K-PSS inorganic polymer composite can be increases by higntening solidiflying and curing temperatures, prolonging curing time and increasing the content of Cr_p. While it increases at first and then decreases with increasing of water content. The flexural strength reaches the max. of 24.5MPa, using 70w% Cr_p, 7g water, curing at 80℃for 11 days. For composites reinforced by Cr_p and stainless steel graticule mutiply, flexural strength and tensile strength rise with the aperture increment and the minishing of Cr_p’s grain size, but work of fracture changes oppositely. When increasing vol.% of stainless steel graticule and ratio of Si/Al, flexural strength and work of fracture increase at first and then decrease. The maximum flexural strength, elastic modulus, tensile stength and work of fracture are 115.3 MPa, 12.9 GPa, 85.1MPa, 3.78J/m2, respectively, when vol.% of stainless steel graticule is 16%, aperture is 50mesh, Cr_p’s grain size is 1000mesh and Si/Al is 2.Stainless steel/ Cr_p/K-PSS inorganic polymer composites was fabricated at 800, 1000 and 1200℃, respectively, the flexural strength increases at first and then decreases. Ceramic process takes place in K-PSS inorganic polymer after the temperature reaches 1000℃, the intensity of K-PSS increases, but the intensity of stainless steel becomes much lower. Synthesis result is that flexural strength decrease after heat processing.
