Abstract


Being a country with the most population, China feeds one fourth of the world population. And it is not hard to imagine the need of Chinese people for costume. As the fastest-developing trade since China’s reform and opening-up policy, costume industry has gradually formed the system of industrial clusters. The achievements of China’s costume industry development are outstanding. In particular, some research achievements have been made in the study of costume industry in the regions where costume industry is well developed, such as study on Changjiang Delta Region, and on Zhujiang Delta Region, and the corresponding results and policies have been proposed accordingly. Yet, the development of costume industry is relatively backward in northeastern region, and the domestic researches on northeastern region costume industry is not sufficient. Especially, Jilin Province is the most underdeveloped province of costume industry among the Three Provinces in Northeast China, and the research on Jilin Province costume industry is almost blank.This paper intend to study and make comparative analysis of China’s costume industry development, reasons and the features of its characteristic developments. It proceeds with analytical study of the status quo, features and the direction of the development of Jilin costume industry according to the strength and weaknesses of Jilin Province costume industry. The paper also discusses the measures and propositions on the harmonious development of Jilin costume industry to enhance its competitive strength, and contribute to the economic development of Jilin Province as well.
