Abstract

With the reform of electric power in the worldwide and the development of interconnected power system, particularly, it is important for the security, reliability stability and the economy of power system. As an effective and economic measure to improve power system stability, excitation control of the synchronous generator has always been concerned widespreadly, which is one of the hot spots in the study of power system. At present, a variety of nonlinear control theory which has applied into the design of excitation control law continuously have achieved encouraging results. However, there are still limitations in a variety of different control methods, in that the power system is a typical nonlinear system and there are all kinds of incertitude factors. Therefore, it is of great theoretical and practical significance for seeking the new methods of control theory of more performance, in particular, a strong robustness performance. Passive system is a class of dynamic system which is considered to exchange energy with the outside world. Passivity and stability are closely related, the system can be passive to maintain its internal stability. This paper will apply passive system theory, robust stabilization control problem, L2-gain disturbance attenuation problems into the nonlinear excitation control of the synchronous generator, establish three single- machine-infinite bus power system mathematical models and discuss its dynamic behavior. The studies show that the application of the method of excitation controller designed to improve the stability of power systems have a certain reference value. The main contents and innovation can be summarized as follows:(1) Study of nonlinear excitation control design on the basis of passive power system. The excitation control of the synchronous generator is a hot research problem. There has been a substantial amount of research in enhancing the nonlinear robustness of the synchronous generator, but does not take into account the external interference that may arise in the parameters of multi-system model in the design of controller, and can not guarantee the control performance of the parameters of the external interference. In this dissertation, passivity is adopted to design controller and L2-gain is adopted to restrain disturbance, finally, the simulation results demonstrate the validity of the method.(2) The study of nonlinear excitation system design based on robust stabilization of passive systems theory. There are bound to exist errors between the systems model and the actual systems in the course of modeling of power system. In addition, damping may change in the electrical excitation during operation, so the various parameters of the model will mot be fully identified, which requires the robustness of control system. In this paper, discussed the problem of robust stabilization in the motor system of excitation control through the use of passive systems and passive control methods. Robust controller is designed to effectively improve robustness of the power control system; and achieved anticipated control result, which has good theoretical signification and applied foreground, provides a useful approach to address the stability of power system.
