Abstract

The direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) is present extensive study of one of the fuel cell, the cathode and anode of the catalyst used are based PT fund is mainly of a noble metal catalyst, prepared by the further development of the excellent electrical performance of catalysts on the DMFC very important. Series of Vulcan XC-72 carbon black load of Nano Pt and Pt-Ni alloy catalyst prepared in the conventional media with ionic liquids using transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), electron spectroscopy analysis. (EDS) and other means of physical characterization of the microscopic structure of the catalyst, using cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry investigated the electrocatalytic properties of the catalyst for methanol oxidation. First of all, in the conventional media, the effects of the physical properties obtained under different pH conditions Pt / C catalyst and its electrocatalytic performance for methanol oxidation, and to explore the need for microwave heating. The results show that the pH value of the increases is conducive to the formation of the crystal face of the catalyst platinum catalysts obtained when the pH control in the 10.0-11.0 range with better dispersibility and electrocatalytic activity for methanol oxidation. Pt / C catalyst will utilize the energy generated by the ultrasonic bath heating system SYSTEM the Pt / C catalyst were compared with the same pH under microwave heating, microwave heating found that microwave heating SYSTEM The electrical performance of the catalyst is preferably confirmed. necessity. Secondly investigated the performance of nano-Pt / C catalyst obtained in the ionic liquid. By changing the concentration of methanol, the scanning speed and the pH of the electrolyte investigated the electrochemical properties of the catalyst. The results show that at the same pH value, the high activity of the Pt / C catalyst in the ionic liquid obtained in electrocatalytic activity than conventional medium to produce the Pt / C catalyst. Electrochemical test shows that, in the ionic liquid catalyst prepared electrodes for methanol oxidation peak current density and the square root of the methanol concentration, the scanning speed is substantially linear relationship; having good catalytic activity and stability in the alkaline electrolyte The maximum peak current density is about 6 times in the acidic electrolyte. The also investigated Pt, Ni atomic ratio of the impact of the microscopic structure and the electrocatalytic properties of the binary alloy catalyst PtNi / C. The results show that Ni atoms into a face-centered cubic structure of the Pt to form a Pt-Ni alloy; the higher the amount of Ni-containing catalysts for methanol oxidation potential lower, when the Pt-Ni atomic ratio of 1:1 was electrically the catalyst stable current highest stability.
