With development of economic and progress of science and technology, high-and ultra-high-rise buildings in China have emerged around the constant. The emergence of these buildings not only demonstrate the level of modernization of the city, but also have the practical significance of improving the urban land use. However, the problem brought about by the increase of the height are structures becoming more and more soft, the natural cycle of the structure and the predominant period of wind load getting closer and closer. In addition, the damping of the structure is relatively small, so it is very sensitive to wind loads; dynamic action of fluctuating wind is very obviously, so the research of wind-induced response becomes more urgent. With the in-depth research on wind load , many universities, research institutions have established wind tunnel laboratory to measure the wind pressure coefficient on the proposed projects, then determinating surfacial wind load of the structure. However, due to time and cost considerations , wind tunnel tests are now mainly concentrated on the rigid model which only measure surfacial pressure or bending moment , torque on base and can’t directly give structural response and equivalent static wind load , so it can’t directly guide the engineering’s practice. Therefore it requires further theoretical research based on wind tunnel test. This article is based on wind tunnel tests by simultaneous multi-point pressure, using random vibration theory of the structure to study the wind-induced response of ultra-high-rise buildings. The main tasks are: the study of displacement response and acceleration response in the frequency domain by Matlab programming, examing the correctness of the results ;analyzing the impact of modes coupling to structural respose; analyzing the impact of reverse to rectangular cross-section strcture; checking the resultof frequency domain by the time domain method, finally, discussing three representatives methods of equivalent static wind load including their advantages anddisadvantages and their applicability to ultra-high-rise building .Through quantitative analysis above, this article also discussed characteristics of wind-induced response of the super high-rise structure and the main component of wind-induced response and equivalent static wind load. Finally, it have proposed a set of method for solving wind-induced response and equivalent static wind load on super high-rise building structure that not only simple but also effective.I hope that this study can have some guidance for determining wind-induced response and equivalent static wind load based on tunnel test.
