Abstract


After the Opium War in 1840, the Chinese nation faces a serious crisis and disaster, Meanwhile the China’s cities have also begun the rough path of modernization. Located inland YueYang as HuNan gateway since 1988, announced the opening of trading in modern times after the start, and then after the late Qing government, the Northern government, the efforts of the Nationalist government in Nanjing, YueYang has made the achievements of attention in its modernization. The main purpose of writing this article is to explore the YueYang in various stages of the modernization of the achievements made and carried out through the following four chapters on.Chapter I briefly describes the history of the previous history of Yueyang, focus on describing the pre-modern history of the emergence of factors in YueYang; the second chapter discussed the period from on the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China when the initial modernization stage in YueYang, would like to say that trade is the history of modern Yueyang starting point, and then from the economy, public services, education, people to explore aspects of life in modern times of Yueyang and these point bring YueYang a series of achievements; the third chapter addressed on the period of the Northern Government of Yueyang during a slow modern stage of development, from the background of economic construction , discussed YueYang in the economic, political, public services, culture and education, health and other areas of the major achievements of modern times; the fourth chapter discussed on the National Government during the passage of the weak modern stage of development, China has large areas of land occupied by Japan during this period, Yueyang suffered great damage to the building, therefore, only after the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan’s economy, Modernization & the public services in areas such as comparing achieved notable success.Finally, in the above sections on the basis shows the process of modernization of the main features: First of all, Yueyang is a modernization of the West as an example, extremely thorough modernization; Secondly, since the beginning of trade history, made a transformation from a single political center to the commercial trade in the city-based integrated city.
