Abstract

Liver cancer is one of the highest-mortality diseases in the world. Liver cancer’s clinical symptoms are not obvious. When the liver cancer is diagnosed, it’s often in the later period. So the best treatment is missed. Besides, it’s difficult to choose an effective method for treatment liver cancer, which leads to lower cure rate for liver cancer surgery. Therefore, it’s very necessary to carry out a pre-operative assessment and comprehensive analysis for the liver cancer. With the development of computer-aided diagnosis and image processing technology, the early diagnosis for liver cancer is possible. By the adoption of clinical images, we use the image processing technology to realize liver cancer’s diagnosis and surgical planning, which has great practical significance. In this paper, the liver segmentation' dissertation">liver segmentation and liver segment are the main research contents. Liver segmentation is the basis for computer-aided diagnosis and surgery. The liver segment is used to guide the surgical program design, path planning and risk assessment. In the liver segmentation process, we chose the semi-automatic method, which named shape detection level set. First of all, the image pre-processing was carried out. This step includes window adjustment, interpolation, and anisotropic filtering. Then we used the shape detection level set to segment the liver initial contour. Finally, we used the morphological operations to optimize the liver contour. The liver segment base on Couinaud’s principle, which according to different branches of the portal vein to achieve the liver segment. Firstly, the liver contour and portal vein are necessary to liver segment, and we tagged the portal vein interactively. Then we used the distance transform and Voronoi diagram algorithm to process the portal vein. Finally, we used the liver contour to mask the Voronoi map and obtain the liver segment. By the three-dimensional reconstruction technology, we achieved the liver segments’three dimensional shape.
