Abstract


The electronic reconnaissance digital receiver is used to capture radar signals and translate them into pulse descriptor words. The current complicated electromagnetism circumstance of radar signals has increasingly high requirements for the digital receiver. With the development of software radio technology, a new approach is presented for digital receiver design. Implementation of digital receivers with software methods has become the research focus in the field of electronic reconnaissance.With the combination of the advantages of analog channelized receivers and digital signal processing technology, the digital channelized receiver based on polyphase filtering presented in this thesis can process signals arrived at the same time with broad frequency band. According to Nyquist sampling theory, High-speed A/D must be employed to process signals with broad frequency. Several signals may arrive at the same time, which means that time domain methods are invalid. The thesis proposed solutions for the channelized digital receiver. The significant works are as following:1, Channelized algorithms based on polyphase filtering without blind-zone are discussed. A mathematical model is derived and tested. Details of simulation results are provided to prove the efficiency of the model.2, Details of signal detection and parameter estimation theory are put forward. Several approaches are chosen for the system in consideration of both performances of the algorithms and difficulties of their implementation on FPGA.3, The entire solutions are implemented on FPGA. With rich resources in FPGA, parallel processing methods are employed by using polyphase structure to process high-speed data. The outputs of all channels are detected and useful data are chosen for precise parameter estimation. At last, the required Pulse Descriptor Words are generated.
