Abstract


China’s investment to Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) began in 1950s, mainly in direct investment. To 1990s,Chinese direct investment to SSA began to take shape. Under the direction of the“going out”strategy, Chinese direct investment to SSA speeded up in recent years. During these years, through the direct investment and internationalized operation, Chinese enterprises have obviously improved their competitive capabilities, which have extremely enhanced China’s initiative in the process of globalization. Meanwhile, Under the circumstances of the whole world financial crisis,how to reasonably promote the China enterprises’ "going out" and participation in competition in international market, study on China’s direct investment in SSA is the great importance in real-life environment.The paper is consisted of seven parts: The first part is Preface, briefly set forth the background and the meaning of this paper. The second part is the theoretical frame of FDI that expounds the classical theories on FDI. The third part, through the analysis of the data, introduces the current condition and features of China’s direct investment in SSA. The fourth part analyzes the problems existed of Chinese direct investment in SSA. The fifth part profits from strategy experience of other countries’ direct investment to SSA. The sixth part puts forward some related policy proposals and reference to the further development. The seventh part is the conclusion of this thesis.The writing pattern of this paper, characterized by basing on the situation of FDI inflows into SSA from China, by relying on analysis of the problems existed in SSA and by guiding by experiences of other countries. The paper puts forward some related advice for the government and the enterprises.
