Abstract


The trend of globalization become more and more violent, and foreign trade importance is increasing in every country. As China joining into WTO in 2001, the importance is becoming more and more obvious. So far, different scholars have studyed the competitiveness of foreign trade competitiveness from different angles. The priority object of this article is China’s regional foreign trade structure and the regional export commodity structure. The article firstly calculated the comprehensive trade competitiveness of all regions and that of variety products using indicators method, then comparated the results using comparative method, and proposed policy recommendations to enhance the competitiveness of China’s foreign trade in this premise. It specifically includes the following three parts:Firstly, this article reviewed and summarized the relevant documents to export competitiveness. Relevant document is mainly composed of three large pieces :the first piece is synthesizing various scholars in the concepts of international competitiveness, which chiefly of foreign scholars; the second is the customary about the influencing factors of international competitiveness; the third is about how to assess and evaluate foreign trade competitiveness, including the study of country’s competitiveness and the city’s competitiveness. This article is hunting for new breakthroughs on the basis of relevant researches.The second part is some empirical study. In order to grasp the overall situation of our foreign trade, in this part the article firstly made a brief overview on China’s foreign trade after WTO entry. Then, calculated the comprehensive foreign trade competitiveness of all regions according to the passage of definition using a series of indicator as NTB, TB, RCA and etc from 2002 to 2008, and analyzed the result. Meanwhile, selected a province from all types of regional growing trend and calculated its product comprehensive foreign trade competitiveness, then analyzed the result from the horizontal and vertical comparative.Finally, summed up the thesis and proposed relevant proposals of agovernment policy and regional policy against how to raise our level of competitiveness in international trade.
