Abstract


A lot of world-renowned companies move their manufacturing function to China. As a result, OEM is prevalent in China and Chinese enterprises can participate in international competition in a broader space. However, Chinese enterprises to participate in the global supply chain as the manufacturer face more risks and challenges. But there are short of the theories about supply chain risk management based on OEM manufacturers. The development of the theory and practice of company risk management need to build the system of the OEM supply chain risk management theory and method.The paper is research on the risk of Chinese OEM manufacturers in global supply chain,which is based on supply chain risk management. Especially the paper is focused on the OEM supply chain risk identification and assessment.The paper uses the questionnaire survey to identify the risk in OEM supply chain. Based on the cross-validation method, the paper defines a model of OEM supply chain risk which includs six major risk factors and the twenty-four risk variables finally. The risk-factor-model is also used as risk assessment as an index system. Then the paper explores the method of comprehensive evaluation of OEM supply chain risk and sets up a risk evaluation model applying the gray fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method which is based on rough set theory (RST). Based on the data which the paper collects used the OEM supply chain risk questionnaires, the paper evaluates the risk probability and criticality. The study of this paper has the contribution on the Chinese manufacturing. It can help the companies to detect risk and assess the risk quantitatively, which is in order to prevent and manage risk and improve its competitiveness.
