Abstract


As an important library management method,the utility and evolution of the library evaluation is much caused from the progression in library circle, and it fits needs to library’s management. Library evaluation that is based on certain goals and standards, through the systematic collection of relevant information, scientific analysis, measurement, and describes is the judgment activities that the library is adapted for the need of readers. The most essential thing of library evaluation is judging the value that the actual work of the library. From the1930s, people have learned and it is obvious that library evaluation has strong power to push library professions upstairs.The evaluation of university libraries in China began from the 1980s. China’s evaluation of higher education promotes the evaluation of university libraries. Twenty years of practice, people have realized that the evaluation of university library carry out guidance and promoting the development of libraries. Of course, with the development of the evaluation indicators on university libraries needs to improve the content of evaluation. Especially, in the current era of information technology in the network, it is the university library for the evaluation put forward new demands.This paper analyzes the evaluation indicators of library at home and abroad and compares the current evaluation indicators of domestic university library. On this basis, this paper proposes building a comprehensive evaluation indicators of university library.This paper designs the evaluation indicators from the literature, readers, software and hardware, and institutional construction. Combining of empirical analysis and the method of expert opinion, four aspects of the evaluation indicators of university library will be progressively refined. Through the comprehensive evaluation indicators of university library in this paper, the abstract strategy and vision of the organization will be implemented at all levels of the organization until the individual staff.
