Abstract


With the popularity of the Internet and the rapid development of network technology, the number of attacks to the computer system of corporation and government is increasing prominent. Information security has gain more and more focus. Nowadays, traditional static security mechanism can not satisfy with the requirement of system security. Intrusion detection is seemed as a second safeguard succeeding firewall, which based on dynamic security policy.Substantively. intrusion detection is a classified problem, and generally adopt active strategy such as machine learning. Intrusion detection detect potential aggressive action in host or network via building detection model. Support vector machine is based on the principle of Vapnik-Chervonenkis Dimension and structure risk minimization developing from Statistical Learning Theory. Because of the advantage of effective classification, global optimization and algorithmic complicacy independing on sample set dimension, support vector machine is successfully introduced to intrusion detection. However,SVM learning process need to solve a quadratic programming, and have considerable space and time complexity for Large-scale network intrusion detection problem.In recent years, with high degree of parallelism, multi-threaded and powerful computing capabilities. GPU has been gradually applied to the general purpose computing, and also provide a good solution to the field of intelligent intrusion detection which facing large-scale training and classification.In this paper, according to large-scale intrusion detection problem, we describes the basic principles of intrusion detection and relevant background knowledge of rapid intelligence intrusion detection technology; Based on GPU architecture and parallel computing capabilities, we propose a GPU-based parallel support vector machine algorithm GSVM: Experiment show that the proposed fast intelligent intrusion detection algorithm could effectively improve the analysis of the efficiency of intrusion detection systems, and solve the problem that traditional commercial intrusion detection system with the high rale of missing report and false alarm.
