Abstract

The new type of organic-inorganic hybird mesoporous materials have many special properties like absorption and catalytic ability due to the introduction of organic functional groups. Three kinds of bridging silsesquioxane monomer like BSPS. BSPB and BSPT with functional groups were first prepared, then they were grafted onto the mesoporous materials MCM-41 and formed functional organic-inorganic hybird mesoporous materials (BSPS-MCM-41, BSPB-MCM-41, BSPT-MCM-41)by using post-synthesis method. A series of characterization methods such as XRD、FT-IR、N2 absorption and desorption isotherm and TGA etc were used to determine the properties of these functional materials. The results showed that these functional materials have large specific surface and pore volume, which are suitable for absorption field.Futhermore, the heavy metal ion absorption ability and the reduce effect of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and Tobacco-specific Nitrosamines (TSNAs) existed in mainstream cigarette smoke of these mesoporous materials were evaluated and compared with that of activated carbon for tobacco. The heavy metal ion absorption experiment shows that the absorption ability towards heavy metal ion like Hg2+, Cd2+ and Pb2+ of MCM-41 have been improved after functionalization, which is better than that of activated carbon for tobacco. The removal ability of these materials toward PAHs existed in mainstream cigarette smoke were detected by using fluorescence method. The results showed that the highest PAHs removal efficiency of functional materials is 40.8% owned in BSPS-MCM-41 and BSPT-MCM-41, which is nearly two times higher than that of activated carbon for tobacco. And the TSNAs absorption efficiency of these materials was detected by using spectrophotometry method. The results indicated that the absorption efficiency of BSPS-MCM-41 is 39.06%, which is highest among that of these functional materials.
