Abstract


Currently, smoking has become a global problem , there are around one third of adults smoke. Smoking status of college students survey data shows that college graduates and freshmen smoking rates were 42.57% and 19.65% , with a significant difference , which to some extent explains the great majority of students start smoking began in college . Cigarettes either as a tool to ease the pressure , as a means of debugging mood or the group as an individual to obtain identity by virtue of , it brings smokers only physical dependence , but also reflects the psychological and social significance. In this study, the main departure from smoking students , using in-depth interviews way to take interpretivism research paradigm , by studying the subject on their own to start smoking , continued smoking, and current smoking status and other aspects of narrative psychology , study their smoking behavior and the relationship between social identity , digging its implicit recognition of the role of smoking behavior behind the action . Study of social identity theory , from the perspective of cultural identity , relationships, identity, identity and gender identity symbols four aspects of the recognition of the role of smoking behavior explained . The results showed that students' smoking behavior is not a simple social process, but a social context , culture , relationships , symbols, gender and other aspects of the complexity of mutually intertwined social behavior .
