Abstract

Our country has been the biggest country of steel production around the world for thirteen years, and at the same time environmental protection is getting an increasing amount of attention from the public. Purifying and recoverying converter gas is one of the effective ways to save energy, on which people from various countries have been researching. At present, there are two mature dedusting systems, i.e. the dry dedusting and wet dedusting. As dry dedusting system has more economic value and less pollution over the wet dedusting system, it becomes the main trend for further development. The dry dedusting system is invented by Thyseen steel company of Germany; the core equipment in this system is the evaporative cooler, in which the most important device is the twin-fluid nozzle patented by Lurgi Company. In the present condition, we can produce the shell of the evaporative cooler, while we still need to buy the twin-fluid nozzle from the Lurgi Company. In all, a lot of enterprises want to do research on twin-fluid nozzle. In this thesis, we did some experiments on the atomization performance of the twin-fluid nozzle and two results were concluded: the atomization angle, and the relation between the fluid pressure and flow rate of the two-phase fluid. Meanwhile, the different permutation of the nozzle was studied. The atomization angle was measured by economic camera method, dealing with the photo through the computer. In this way, we got the different heights of collection caused by the atomization distribution and marked them. The experimental results showed that the pressure of the two-phase fluid body was approximately proportionality to its flow. When the gas pressure increased, the liquid flow would reduced the uniformity of atomization which was closely related to the radius and the number of nozzles. In this experiment the nozzle was improved as well. The test results indicated that the swirl leaves played a positive role on the angle of atomization. In addition, three methods to improve atomization in our dissertation were summarized and dissertated.
