Abstract


In the modern industrial control field, the start of large capacity AC asynchronous motor is always an issue in motor-controlling area. In terms of the application of soft starter, the Silicon Controlled Rectifier, SCR, is applied more widely with its series and large capacity technology matured. According to the start requirement of 14MW main draught fan, the high-voltage and solid- state soft starter is applied in the catalyzing device of Jihua Refinery. The SOLCON high-voltage AC motor soft starter, which indicates that the SCR voltage-regulating soft start technology has reached 15 MW grade with the application in 14 MW main draught fan successfully, adopts the converse parallel and series of SCR in the main circuit, and the high-voltage vacuum switch in the by-pass.To meet the start requirement of catalytic main fan motor, the current closed-loop control is utilized to detect motor current automatically, and the different start factors are prefabricated in line with the requirement of the field, with which SOLCON medium-voltage soft starter can achieve the optimal start and the start of the motor can realize the adjustment of 1~10 times per hour. In this thesis, on the basis of power system condition in Jihua Refinery, it is worked out firstly that how to realize the 14MW motor start and how to restrict the starting current 2.6 times below to avoid the severe shock of power system itself and other electric loads. It is therefore concluded that the main fan of catalyzing device in Jihua refinery must install high-voltage soft starter. Then the current main three soft starts of fluid-resistance, magnetic control and SCR are compared. In the terms of soft starting effects, the motor start through soft starts of liquid-state electric resistance and self-excitation MCR can produce 3-time-below impact electric current, which affects the equipments. By contrast, the motor start through SCR series soft start has no impact effects on the equipments for its voltage and current can be continuously adjusted from zero. The other technical aspects of SCR series soft start are also perfect such as automation control and protection. Therefore, the high-voltage SCR soft start is applied in the reform of motor step-down start of main air units in catalyzing device of Jihua refinery. The motor theoretical basis and step-down start principle of SCR are introduced in this thesis, and emphatically the technological characteristic of medium-voltage soft start device is introduced. Finally the start data of 14MW main fan during the starting process are analyzed, and with which the performance of SOLCON medium-voltage soft start device is analyzed and evaluated. This thesis is valuable for analyzing step-down start of large capacity motor in the future.
