Abstract
High magnetic field becomes an indispensable tool in some modern scientific research fields, and some of these scientific experiments need a highly stabilized high magnetic field. The flat-top long-pulsed high magnetic field is expected to satisfy these experiments. The flat-top long-pulsed high magnetic field can provide a stabilized constant field, and the magnetic field is higher than the continuous high magnetic field.At present, only a few laboratories realized the flat-top long-pulsed magnetic field, and these facilities are usually supplied by the pulsed generator or the power system. These power supply systems have some disadvantages such as the complicated control system and the high cost. To overcome these problems, this paper presents a novel flat-top long-pulsed high magnetic field power supply system which is combined with a battery bank and a pulsed generator supply system. The detailed circuit topology of the power supply system and control strategies are introduced, and digital simulations are carried out to valid the power supply system.In order to get a highly stabilized flat-top magnetic field, a shunt active power filter is designed for the series combined power supply system presented in this paper. And the output characteristic and compensation performance of the filter are analyzed by digital simulation.In digital simulation, the feasibility and output characteristic of the series-combined power system are valid. A 21 kA magnet current with a 400 ms flat-top is obtained to generate a 50T, 400ms flat-top long-pulsed magnetic field. And after adding the shunt active power filter, the flat-top current ripple is suppressed to 85 ppm.
