Abstract


Modern social security system , social security, the impact of household consumption has caused widespread concern of economists and social scientists . The relatively rapid growth of China 's national economy in recent years , mainly relying on investment and exports , while the consumer contribution rate for new share of China's GDP is declining , the increasingly serious problem of lack of effective demand problem has become an obstacle to the development of restricting economic health . In addition , nearly twenty years , China's urban and rural residents experiencing social security system from the traditional to the modern transformation process , which has a profound impact on consumer behavior of Chinese urban and rural residents . Therefore, the study of the impact of social security on household consumption has important practical significance . For the current financial crisis , China 's consumer tendency to continue to reduce the household savings remain high and economic development issues , this paper investigates the relationship between social security and consumption , using a combination of theoretical analysis and empirical research , from the perspective of the social security explore the deep -seated reasons for declining domestic consumer tendency to study the impact of social Security on the consumption of China 's urban and rural residents . Thesis work are as follows : 1 . Summarizes the role of social security in consumer Research , studied the role of social security in the consumer mechanism ; 2 . Use of the various provinces of the country from 1997 to 2008 the per capita level of social security , urban and rural consumer urban and rural residents ' income panel data , using the Granger causality test , cointegration analysis , regression analysis and other measurement methods , combined with the relative income hypothesis theory and get the following conclusions about the relationship between China's social security and consumer : ( 1) social Security on consumer exists one - way Granger causality ; ( 2 ) Social security and consumer long-run equilibrium relationship , and the short-term adjustment is negative ; (3) in Duesenberry (JSDuesenberry) , the relative income hypothesis , the introduction of social variable level of protection , in order to examine its impact on household consumption . Draw social security and incomes are positive , but the impact is not very significant impact on the consumption of urban and rural residents ; 3 sustained reductions in response to the current financial crisis and China 's consumer tendency and the reality of the problem of high household savings , according to empirical the analysis of the conclusions of recommendations for improving and perfecting the social security system .
