With the issuance of 3G licenses , China 's mobile communications industry into the 3G era . The biggest difference is the the Internet increased speed and bandwidth 3G brings change . Previously, due to bandwidth limitations and the slow development of mobile video business gradually by the attention of operators and consumers , to become one of the main applications of the 3G era . Domestic major carriers have attached great importance to the development of the mobile video business , are included in the first batch of 3G ( trial ) commercial business , mobile video such as China Telecom , China Unicom mobile TV operators, content providers and equipment manufacturers . We look forward to seek progress and breakthroughs in the mobile video business . Not only as a new generation video coding standard H.264 high compression ratio and good network affinity to strengthen IP network , mobile network BER and packet loss treatment , has a great market demand and development prospects. However , due to the limitations of the codec technology and mobile phone platforms , H.264 mobile video application is relatively small . Therefore , in the analysis of the characteristics of streaming media technology and a variety of characteristics of the video decoder , focusing on FFmpeg 's H.264 decoder partially stripped and ported to S60 V3 version of the Symbian platform , and algorithms and platforms further improvement and optimization. Processing and optimization program flow and structure through a detailed analysis of the H.264 , the decoding process , the entire decoder , followed by analysis and testing the execution time of each stage of the decoding process , and to optimize the level of the algorithm to the achievement of the program , Cache memory access mechanism and size , as well as the architecture of the CPU at the hardware level , the key code segment of the program to do improvements and adjustments , and ultimately improve the rate of decoding H.264 decoder on the Symbian platform , 416 × 320 baseline grades and decoding rate of 576 × 432 mian profie grade upgrade from the previous 16.06 fps and 11.95 fps to 21.3 fps and 15.9 fps .
