With the rapid development of wireless communication technology , there are a variety of wireless access networks coexist . The network of different radio access technology, different transmission performance fused to together form a single logical network is called a heterogeneous wireless network . Compared with the rapid development of the underlying access technology , network slow development of upper layer protocols . Heterogeneous wireless networks , TCP 's end-to-end congestion control mechanism has a very important role in the robustness and stability of the network , and therefore is a hot issue in network research . Vertical handover in heterogeneous wireless networks , transmission delay and switching network transmission performance changes are possible error inspire TCP congestion control mechanism . This article is based on TCP Vegas algorithm has broad application prospects , is proposed improved algorithm the B-EVegas, to improve the transmission performance of TCP connections in a communication node vertical handover . Vegas algorithms available bandwidth weak competitive issues , and proposed based on the a variable threshold improved algorithm T - EVegas . The main content of this paper is as follows: the main wireless access technology . Vertical handover in heterogeneous wireless network technology and Mobile IP technology . The main content of the Transmission Control Protocol , and analyze TCP performance of wireless environment , summarize and compare the main idea of the wireless system TCP performance enhancement program . Decline in the performance of the transport layer in the vertical handover of mobile nodes in heterogeneous wireless networks based on TCP Vegas proposed the improved algorithm B - Evegas , transmission control method gives the vertical handoff occurs , the recovery of the congestion window in the vertical handover bandwidth estimation method , combined with the segmented increase strategy and quick adjustment mechanism , the congestion window to quickly converge to a stable value . The Vegas algorithm compared with other TCP algorithms exist for insufficient bandwidth competitiveness problem , and the improved algorithm based on variable threshold that the T-EVegas algorithm . The simulation results show that the the B - EVegas algorithm can effectively improve the throughput of TCP connections in the vertical handover occurred or reduce the transmission delay of the packet , and TCP stream using the T-EVegas algorithm coexist with TCP flow , based on Reno bottleneck bandwidth share improved significantly , thus improving the coexistence of different TCP algorithms in possession on the fairness of the available bandwidth .
