Nowadays , medical images for objectively reflect the patient's condition played a considerable role in the doctor understand the patient's condition by the medical images , compared with ordinary image , higher resolution requirements of medical images of the patient's condition , a doctor in order to make a diagnosis , medical image storage problems which students , higher resolution means more storage space , so its compression processing is essential . First, using improved genetic algorithm (Genetic Algorithm, GA) and matching pursuit (Matching Pursuit, MP) algorithm is a combination of sparse decomposition , brain CT image compression to save storage space . Calculated for the original genetic algorithm for a long time , the lack of matching low , improved methods to optimize the operation of choice , competition , and mutation of the number of iterations , and then use the algorithm to the brain CT image block compression , making computing speed , compression ratio and signal-to-noise ratio has been improved. Analysis and experimental verification , improved compression ratio , the distortion is smaller , shorter running time , and provide a new method for the study of brain CT image compression . Secondly, this paper introduces the concept of wavelet transform and multiresolution analysis knowledge Mallet algorithm wavelet transform , and applied to a two-dimensional image , combined EZW and SPIHT coding method for image compression . Also studied a new method combining wavelet transform and sparse decomposition on brain CT image compression by Matlab simulation of the sparse decomposition , wavelet transform as well as a combination of both contrast and concluded , the combination of both in the case of SNR allows greater compression ratios can be achieved .
