Abstract


EPC project mode is main trend contract mode of international mega project. With continually integrating into global economy, more and more EPC project will be executed in China, the general contractor will face very fierce competition. How to explore new project management mode, to raise management level, to enhance competitive ability, have become the key topic of survival and development of our EPC project general contractor.This article try to put the "Lean thinking" into each process of EPC project cost management,give some valuable reference to readers.Lean production mode originated from Toyota Company of Japan, and obtained manificent success through continuous practice.Now, the lean production mode have been popularized in various fields around the world. The core of lean thinking is to rationally allocate each production elements with the viewpoint of integration optimization, and to eliminate all the waste cauced by non-valuable labour and resource.Lean constrction is to transplant the lean thinking into engineering project field, and to inherit and develop it based on the features of engineering project.In consideration of excessive content covered by lean construction, this article only discuss and study cost management of it.First, we introduce development history and the current research situation of lean construction method.Then, we elaborate the main trend of cost control process, cost control model and progress measurement model of EPC project.Next, we raise the key points of lean cost management in each stage of EPC project based on each stage’s characteristics.The end is conclusion and the outlook on research.
