Abstract


Long period fiber grating having a longer cycle , usually several tens to several hundreds microns , and the mode coupling is the same to the coupling between the fundamental mode of the core and cladding mode of transmission , these features determine the long-period fiber grating resonant wavelength and the loss peak is very sensitive to changes in the external environment , has better sensitivity Bibulage grating , more widely used to determine the long period in the field of optical communications . Firstly, the use of the coupled mode theory , analysis and simulation of the spectral characteristics of a single long-period fiber grating . Simulation of different modulation depth of DC and AC coupling rate , and then , depending on the coupling strength , respectively, to discuss the situation not been coupled , over the coupling and strong coupling . The final simulation analysis of the normalized wavelength and bandwidth variation with wavelength . Second, using the transfer matrix method for the analysis and simulation of uniform and non - uniform long-period grating cascade . The first two uniform grating cascade discuss two grating spacing , phase shift and the length of the two gratings than three cases . And analysis of the two non - uniform grating phase shift and sampling . Cascaded grating phase shift analysis ordinary phase shift, and introducing multiple of π phase shift and the phase shift increment for three cases . For sampled grating through a step-by-step study found that it can be applied to the WDM channel isolator . Discussed after more conventional long period grating cascade , and the simulation analysis . Finally, the long period fiber grating sensing mechanism described sensing characteristics of the temperature and stress were discussed . The results show that the cascaded long period fiber grating spectral type and easy to control the DWDM systems channel isolation and comb filters, etc. , can be well applied . Sensing characteristics of long-period grating is also more prominent in the sensing area is also well developed .
