Abstract


With the development of modern capitalism, and sparkpluged by the Qing government, Chambers of Commerce in our country were gradually established and expanded rapidly. The Chambers of every walk of life as representatives of the local bourgeoisie widely participated in the economic, political, cultural and other social spheres of activity, In modern history they laid their own brands. The present article is trying to work out its General outlines, and on the basis of existing information on Suiyuan area to anatomize the Chambers of Commerce’s history, organizational development, internal structure, and the influence of Chambers of Commerce in the political, economic, social and welfare activities in the area.First: Background why Suiyuan Chambers of Commerce to establish. Pulishing《The law of Chambers of Commerce》、the development of Commerce、the appearance of hangshe lay the first stone for Chambers of Commerce.Second: Businesses were different leading some of the Chambers of Commerce were established earlier, some later. Guisui、Baotou、Fengzhen、Guyang、Wuchuan and so on form Chambers of Commerce, mostly going from line social development to the Chambers of Commerce.Third: Financial management of Suiyuan Chambers of Commerce . Most of the funds of the Associations come from merchants pay into the costs and expenses. As commercial development, Chambers of commerce system gradually were improving too, the financial management system.Fourth: Functions for Suiyuan Chambers of commerce: Chambers of commerce business activities often exceed the economic function extending to education, social welfare, and many other fields. Local chambers of Commerce also did many services of communities, Chambers of Commerce as merchants’own in their organizations, their major work was as a matter of business-related, economic development, the interests of businessmen,but at the same time there were also some less-than-ideal places, causing tremendous obstacles of the economic and social development In modern times, the lack of stable environment to support the Association’s development, business associations were recurrently on the lack of strong economic strength, whether political or economic, projecting quite hypodynamic .However, the emergence of Suiyuan Chamber of Commerce is still a sign of social progress, because it fulfils progress trend.
