The Research on Noise Impact Evaluation Method for High-speed Railway

With the high-speed rail has been rapidly developed in our country, and the noise pollution of high-speed rail has become a prominent environmental issue. As the noise assessment is still using the traditional railway noise methods, which results in the inconsistency between the evaluation results and community response. Therefor, the study of new assessment method of high-speed rail noise is very urgent.Based on the comparison of a large number of domestic and foreign evaluation methods and standards of high-speed rail noise, we stimulated the LAeq and LAmax along both sides of the Case Study Area, Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway in the southern section of town, via the noise prediction software Cadna/A, drawing on the Japanese Shinkansen noise evaluation criteria. Moreover, the status of the acoustic environmental impact was monitored by setting monitoring sections in the case area, and LAeq and LAmax were analyzed based on the corresponding evaluation methods. Subjective annoyance caused by noise was surveyed in the residential areas which were nearest to high-speed rail. Comparing the surveyed results and the monitored results of LAeq and LAmax, it showed that the LAmax was more suitable than the LAeq to evaluate the noise of high-speed rail.More over, we proposed that the change rate of high-speed rail noise, We surveyed the subjective annoyance of the residents in the sensitive points, which were at different distances away from the high-speed rail, and calculated the corresponding the change rate of high-speed rail noise. Meanwhile, noise annoyance index was proposed in order to analyze the statistical correlation between the degree of noise annoyance and the change rate of noise. Correlation analysis results showed that the correlation coefficient of the change rate of noise and the degree of noise annoyance was 0.948, indicating that it was reasonable to evaluate the noise of high-speed rail noise by the change rate of noise. Furthermore, we analyzed statistical correlation between the percent of high noise annoyance and the change rate of noise, Correlation analysis results showed that the correlation coefficient of the percent of the percent of high noise annoyance and the change rate of noise was 0.939. Grading standards of noise evaluation by the change rate of noise was explored.The new evaluation amount and its grading standards in this study provide some reference for the improvement of the assessment methods and standards of high-speed rail noise.
