Abstract


What the university campus could bring users a convenient and comfortable feeling has been the problems faced by the Campus Planning.Colleges and universities expanding the enrollment scale in the last twenty years has achieved rapid development in college construction. There are huge material progress and achievements in the construction, but there are still a lot thing needed to explore and improve. In addition to gain a excellent campus form, we must do more research on the use of the students and consider the formation within a more humane campus space.Campus small-scale public space, as the closest public space from human impact on student learning and living. By research and analysis a large number of case-based Zijingang Campus of Zhejiang University, found that which small space conducive to produce the exchange and discussion, Looking for those small spaces by seeing the reasons people like them and initial approach to explore these designs. In order to contrast the nuances of the planners and users’ understanding about the function and select, small-scale public space in the campus of Zhejiang University as the main target of the analysis and field observations into the research on small space. Hope to provide a reference for planners.The main contents and conclusions of the research are:(1) From the perspective of urban planning, sociology and environmental behavior limits the concept of small-scale public space campus in this article.(2) Select Zijingang Campus of Zhejiang University as a main case.Record usage in the user’s psychological needs and choices. Select introduction of other cases as a comparative analysis and complement when analysis the relationship between design and use about campus small-scale space.(3) After analysis found that the campus small-scale public space design has an important influence in shaping the campus culture.(4) Summary the characteristics and types on small-scale public space in Zijingang campus of Zhejiang University.
