Abstract

Eco-industrial system is a new pattern of industrial development. It is also an important strategy to solve environmental problem and to implement sustainable development. The mainly practice of eco-industrial system is the construction of Eco-Industrial Park (EIP). An EIP is a regional association that contains financial conditions, society, environment and resources. It is a new artificial complex ecosystem designed by the concept of circular economy and the principles of industrial ecology. The formation, development and disintegrate of an eco-industrial system is a process of dynamic evolvement, with the characteristics of openness, evolutionary, emergence, non-linear, fractal growth and vast subsystem in various categories. Therefore, an eco-industrial system is considered as a typical complex giant system, for which there are not yet any perfect theories to deal with.A new weltanschauung that breaks through reductionism is put forward in this paper, which expounds the essence of eco-industrial system. A viewpoint is raised that everything in the world is based on the information reality or information process in which a steady pattern is continuously evolving and being seeking. The whole universe is just a communal, organic, functional, multi-hierarchical, self-training, evolving, self-pattern emerging from boundaryless network. It is isomorphic and holographic. A dynamical equation that describes how the information reality or information process creates the whole universe is raised in this paper. As the ego in limitless network forms steady pattern to prove the existence of itself through unceasingly grabbing information and unerringly mutually referencing, the equation also describes the process of conformation and evolution of real world, which obviously fulfils the Maximum Generalized Information Entropy Principle (or Maximum Flux Principle, MFP). As a part or section of the whole picture of the isomorphic and holographic world, eco-industrial system is also a generalized living body that maximally gathers generalized information flux to generate itself and evolve continuously. This is the essence of the complex eco-industrial system. With the dynamical equation of the generation and evolution of eco-industrial, a theory framework is accordingly built up.Basing on the explaining of MFP theory, a particular method is developed to solve the dynamics evolution equations of complex system through the Self-Organizing Feather Map in artificial neural network provided by Matlab. As the self-emergence steady pattern is rebuilt through grabbing agents in complex system, a numerical simulation model is set up based on the new weltanschauung and methodology. Using this method, a forecast of the structural evolution of all complex system including eco-industrial system could be made and the trend of development could be understood in a certain extent. Lubei eco-industrial system is taken as an example in this paper to show the evolution of structure in complex system. The simulation indicates that the development of Lubei eco-industrial system is an optimized process with the accretion of the structural parameters and a process of self-generation, synergetic-evolution and growing of the agents. The structural development meets the fractal feature basically. A forecast method has been tried in this paper, verifying the application value in practice of this theory and method.MFP theory provides the new weltanschauung and methodology that contain organic relations and dynamic evolution. The whole world, from microcosmic particles to social structure, could be unified and deduced by the fluxion of generalized information. This new weltanschauung that means an essential transformation in scientific paradigm has great significance for sustainable development.
