Abstract


With the global digital television era, China is now being vigorously promote the popularization and application of digital television . Interactive digital TV gives it a lot of features , an electronic program guide (EPG) is one of the basic operations of digital television , it is the user-friendly interface to achieve the best form of expression, but also digital TV value-added services to the most direct expression. Product features no longer be the most important factor to attract users , able to promote the products have been accepted by the public as an important factor is the user experience , China's digital TV promotion in the entire process of the lack of consideration of the user experience , digital TV usability and user experience is just started, the paper selected for the case of digital television for interactive applications, a very important - the availability of electronic program guides . This use of \First, a \EPG established on this basis for the study . Then on the EPG usability evaluation , the main subject of the use of \From the user 's process of discovery EPG problems . Meanwhile, we also got new features EPG user expectations and improve customer satisfaction improvements. Finally, the EPG improve research, and expert assessment through usability testing to verify the degree of usability improvements . Results of this study show the usability , UCD methods in improving the availability of digital TV program guides feasibility . Recommendations based on the user , and then use MacromediaFlash8 as a design tool for the design of new EPG prototype recruit user usability testing of the prototype , based on the usability problems found on the prototype has been improved. The results show that the design of new features user needs and satisfaction are high.
