Abstract


This paper studied the relationship between rural living environmental changeand the villagers living behavior under the background of urbanization in Zhejiang.D village in Ningbo and H village in Shaoxing were investigated by the methodsof behavioral observation, questionnaire and random interviews to discover the livingenvironment of the natural villages and resettlement and behavioral characteristics ofthe villagers there, including surveying public spaces and living spacial environmentalcharacteristics in natural village, villages’natural behavior characteristic and thevillages’way of space use; the conversion of living environment after the villagersresettlement, the villagers behavior characteristic in the resettlement community, thevillagers choice tendency for living mode before and after the resettlement, thechange of villagers’habits in the resettlement. We found that: 1) many activitybehavior in the village occurs in outdoor, the peak of that is from noon to afternoon; 2)compared with urban residential, the rural residential has strong extraversion, yard istheir indispensable constituent part; 3) villagers would flexibly use and transformspace according to their own needs ; 4) because of villagers’high efficiencyutilization of natural resources, the cost of their living is much lower than cityresidents; 5) resettlement nowadays is only the transformation of the livingenvironment, culture and spiritual transformation still takes long time; 6) resettlementdestroys the relationship of neighborhoods between villagers, the activities behaviorbegins tend to indoor; 7) after yard disappeared, the phenomenon of occupy publicspace in the resettlement community is very serious; 8) economic conditions is animportant factor, but not the decisive factor to affect choice tendency and environmentbehavior, while the sense of inadaptation caused by the change of living environmentconversion living habits and behavior rules is more important; 9) old people andchildren are more likely to tend to village life style ;
