Abstract


Minimum wage system is the essence of the government 's mandatory to put low-income workers to raise wages above the market equilibrium wage , thereby improving the income situation of low-income workers . China is in a period of economic restructuring , the oversupply of labor in the context of the implementation of the minimum wage system will be conducive to safeguarding the rights of workers , and promote the harmonious development of society . The minimum wage is a double-edged sword , since the emergence of the minimum wage system since , people have been arguing that the focus of debate is whether the minimum wage affects employment, and how to affect employment . In this thesis, Chongqing as an example , the minimum wage in their current situation based on the analysis using empirical methods the focus of debate on the minimum wage , that employment effects of minimum wages accordingly discussed. Firstly, the minimum wage for domestic and theoretical models and empirical studies were reviewed and relevant overview of the status of the study derive evaluation and useful insights on paper ; reanalysis minimum wage situation in Chongqing , and through the gray correlation analysis results affect for a minimum wage standard four main factors, namely, the average wage per capita consumption , per capita GDP, per capita disposable income ; followed by the minimum wage set forth the main factors associated with their relationship for the Government to formulate and adjust the minimum wage to provide a reference basis ; then cointegration theory empirical studies Chongqing minimum wage on employment ; final status of Chongqing minimum wage , combined with empirical research findings on improving the minimum wage system recommendations. The results showed that: the low minimum wage in Chongqing , the adjustment is less than the average wage , per capita consumption , per capita GDP, per capita disposable income of these four main factors of growth rate , adjust the frequency to once every two years basically , the lag in social and economic pace of development. Chongqing minimum wage on employment without crowding-out effect , but there is a weak role in promoting. Government should correctly understand the impact of minimum wages on employment , social and economic development with the establishment and growth of the proportion of the adjustment system, unified minimum wage adjustment time.
