In morden Launch Vehicle Range,once the flying target is detected,its trajectory and state are generally recorded by radars. With the development of space technology, the precision of optical measuring equipment becomes more and more accurate.Thus,the Optical Imaging Tracking System based on CCD imaging is more widely used with its advantages,such as high tracking accuracy,smooth tracking state, strong anti-interference ability, high resolution,low-cost and so on.In the task of satellite tracking,the Imaging Tracking System should to identificate and locate the target which is in a long distance.Just then,the target exits as a dim and small one in field of view and the signal-to-noise ratio is generally very low.So,the investigations of Detection Algorithm at home and abroad for the dim and small target has made in this paper to achieve the rapid detection of the target.The paper combined with project practical situation and introduced a realization process of target detection algorithm which based on Morphology and threshold segmentation,and carried on the simulation experiment.In the realization process,the Top-hat transformation was made to homogenize the background in the first,and then the SNR and contrast of image were improved by using Nonlinear Gray Level Transformation and Adaptive Threshold Segmentation,the target had detected as well.Finally,the application of target detection algorithm was introduced in the paper,and the tracking results was also analyzed after binding the tracking algorithm.
