Abstract


The main research objects of the thesis are collecting、processing and monitoring the device information in the network. Based on SNMP protocol and MIB theory, a flexible and scalable cluster management system is builded and the mechanisms of user-defined collection and regional management are given in the thesis. The main work and result of the thesis can be divided into the following points:(1)The existing collection system for the network devices is analyzed and a cluster management system which is based on user-defined collection items is builded in the thesis. In the system, the device information which user needs the system to collect can be confirmed by the way of selecting. Then, user can change the configuration of collection items and also can collect the device information with the initial configuration which is provided by the system. In this way, the system has more flexibility and expansibility. It can satisfy different users to collect and monitor the devices with their respective needs.(2)The problems about processing and monitoring of device information in the network are analyzed and a mechanism of regional monitoring is builded in the thesis. In the function of displaying information, a kind of operation strategy is designed in the thesis. Result shows that the mechanism of regional monitoring and the strategy of device information operation can greatly improve the efficiency of device monitoring. Then, the devices can be managed centralizedly.
