With the increasingly depletion of IPv4 addresses , IPv6 gradually replace IPv4 as the inevitable development of the Internet . Because most of the equipment and applications are based on IPv4 , IPv4 and IPv6 will coexist for a long time and eventually transition to IPv6 , dual-stack technology is one of the key technologies to achieve the coexistence of IPv4 and IPv6 . In the mobile Internet , while running both IPv4 and IPv6 mobility management protocol such as protocol complexity and high cost problems . This paper aims to study the mobility management protocol that supports both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols . This article relying on the \This paper first introduces the IPv6 transition program in the mobile Internet research status and existing problems , expounded the basic working principle and the Proxy Mobile IPv6 protocol IPv4 support included . Secondly, we designed the overall framework of the Proxy Mobile IPv6 dual-stack , a division of the functional modules and data structure design completed in accordance with the functional requirements of the agreement . The IPv4 support program should be modified and extended , including the extension of the structure and configuration files , moving head options to modify the establishment of different tunnel encapsulation mode , delete , update routing information to achieve , achieve IPv4 mobile terminal access and IPv4 networks through support . Wherein IPv4 mobile terminal to access the mobile node to access the Proxy Mobile IPv6 domain when using the IPv4 address for communication , and to ensure the continuity of communication in the moving process . The IPv4 network the crossing using IPv4/v6-in-IPv4 data encapsulation , mobile nodes can communicate across an IPv4 network . Finally, Linux 2.6.29 platform Proxy Mobile IPv6 to IPv4 support , and functional testing and performance testing WLAN environment , including the protocol process , signaling message format , the the tunnel encapsulation data format and the mobile node to switch performance test . The test results show that the basic protocol functions to achieve good handoff performance .
