Abstract


Self-concept is cognitive understanding of the individual’s own and with their variety of related information, Self-concept is the core component of personality structure. First-year is the beginning of a new stage for university students,many problems happen in this year, freshman biggest problem boils down to is to adapt, adapt will bring a range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, etc., at this time active coping style is particularly important.A large number of studies indicate that coping style and self-concept is closely related, people with high self-concept may have higher life satisfaction, less anxiety, less depression and feeling.This study randomly select 125 freshman in a college in Henan as the research object, According to SCL-90 results, the subjects were divided into three groups: normal group, depression and anxiety group, Selection of Tennessee self concept scale as explicit self-concept measurement tool, the implicit association test for implicit self concept measuring tool, Coping Style Questionnaire and the implicit association test of integrated measurement and analysis. The results of this research show that:1. Ordinary freshmen and the presence of anxiety and depression emotion tendency of Freshmen in Tennessee self concept scale 10 factors were significantly different.2. Different Gender of Freshmen’s explicit self-concept except in self satisfaction factor significantly, the other nine factors were not significant, and different gender of the different classifications was no difference.3. Implicit self-concept effect exists generally, and the differences between different classification and different gender were not significant, implicit self-concept and the explicit self-concept has low correlation.4. The Freshmen showed significant disparities between their implicit and explicit self-concept, and different classification of Freshmen’s implicit and explicit self-concept showed significant difference, the presence of anxiety and depression emotion tendency of Freshmen’s implicit and explicit self-concept showed more significant disparities than that in normal group, whereas depression and anxiety group there was no significant difference. There were no significant difference in different gender, but the female implicit self-concept than explicit self-concept, while the male was explicit self-concept than implicit self concept. 5. Ordinary freshmen and the presence of anxiety and depression emotion tendency of Freshmen’s coping style had significant difference, indicate that ordinary group in the coping styles tend to use solving-problem and resort, depression and anxiety group in the coping styles tend to use more remorse, fantasy, retreating, rationalization.6. Different Gender in coping style had no significant difference.7. Explicit self-concept and solving-problem, resort was a significant positive correlation, and remorse, fantasy, retreating, rationalization was a negative correlation: implicit self-concept and coping style of six factors were no significant correlation; Separation of difference and remorse, fantasy was a significant positive correlation, and solving-problem, resort was a significant negative correlation.8. Ordinary freshmen and the presence of anxiety and depression emotion tendency of Freshmen’s implicit self-concept, explicit self-concept and coping style in different ways.
