Abstract


Microfinance emerged in the 1970s, it played the incentive and restrictive mechanism of finance and mobilized the enthusiasm of the poor through the provision of small loans to the poor,it also realized economic aid to the poor by financially transfer payments and financial innovation. China started to pilot micro-credit in the beginning of 1990s, which has been about 20 years till now. Microfinance has played a significant effect in alleviating poverty and increasing farmers’income as an achievement of financial innovation. However, compared with microfinance’s rapid development all over the world and its trend of integration into the major financial system, how much the development of microfinance of China falls behind is surprised. Meanwhile, China’s microfinance mostly has the trouble of little-scale, non-stability and lack of the ability of sustainable develop, it is only one of the measures of poverty relief, also the weak link of financial reform. As a result of our country’s special national condition, the system as well as differences among various areas, we cannot imitate the international successful experience about microfinance, in reality there is still something not perfect in our job, it is necessary to conduct thorough research to peasants’microfinance, supplements and complete the content of microfinance according to China’s actual situation, with the aim of making microfinance work more for peasants to survival and develop in market competition.Based on introducing the elementary theory of microfinance, this article analyzes the problems in proposing rural microfinance, and then it uses empirical analysis of Tai’an to show the present situation of our country’s microfinance, with macroscopic, microscopic, qualitative and quantitative methods to analysis the survey data receiving the summery and suggestion,and then it summarizes international experience and inspiration of developing rural microfinance. Finally I put forward a few opinions on how to develop rural microfinance.
