Abstract


Urbanization is the inevitable trend of human social development while it is also an important national symbol of industrialization and modernization. Promoting coordinated development of urbanization is the strategic choice of expanding domestic demand, realizing economic growth, promoting social progress and improving people’s livelihood in China. In recent years, the level of urbanization and the scale has a definite increase with the development of urbanization progressing rapidly in Anhui. Urbanization has played an important role in promoting economic development and pushing forward modernization in Anhui while there are still some problems in the process of urbanization which restricting economic development greatly. Therefore, further analyzing the mechanism and studying the evolution law and the coordination between urbanization and economic development has important theoretical and practical significance for accelerating the urbanization, promoting the development of urbanization, industrialization and modernization fused and spurring a sustainable and harmonious development of the whole economic and social.On the basis of research results of relative studies, this thesis absorbs the beneficial theoretical analyses and the real diagnoses method, combining the related knowledge like urban economics and development economics, and attempting to make the real diagnosis and the theoretical analysis, the quantitative and qualitative analysis and the dynamic and static analysis unified. This thesis takes into full consideration the availability of the data and the serviceability of the target, and makes every effort to systematically probe into the effects of urbanization on the economic development in Anhui Province and the coordination mechanism between them from multiple perspectives.Based on a clear analysis of the background of research, the significance of topic and the domestic and foreign research results, the paper firstly defines the concepts and characteristics of urbanization and economic development, then it asserts the effects of urbanization on economic development from the angles of economic growth, industrial structure, employment, residents life quality and sustainable development. Secondly, the paper analyzes the status and characteristics of urbanization in Anhui, then quantitatively measures all aspects of actual effects that urbanization acts on Anhui’s economic development with Co-integration Test, Impulse Response Analysis and Gray Correlation Analysis methods; thirdly, the paper uses the Factor Analysis in the building of evaluation systems of urbanization and economic development separately, then, it measures and quantifies these indicators with a reasonable analysis to reveal the laws of their development; Simultaneously it builds the coordinated development degree model and constructs the BP artificial neural network to predict and analyze the coordinated development degree. Finally, this thesis puts forward some countermeasures that accelerating the urbanization process and promoting economic development by inspecting the problems of urbanization promoting Anhui’s economic development.
