Before the reform and opening, the relationship between urban and rural areas in china has been unable to form a balanced growth and virtuous circle, resulting in the dual economic structure between urban and rural areas solidifying. Since the reform and opening, with the introduction of socialist market economy and the deepening of reform process, the range of exchange between urban and rural areas expanded gradually; and the connection also enhanced increasingly, the urban and rural relationship got vast improvement. But the inertia and institution of the urban and rural dual economic structure still exist, on the economic development, social development, education, employment, medical treatment, social protection and other aspects, there are still huge differences, and these differences have obviously surpassed the reasonable scope, they do not only restrict the development of our national economy, but also endanger the social stability, so the road of China’s urban-rural coordinative development will be long and tortuous. Therefore, in the current stage of economic and social development, the problems between urban and rural must be considered as a whole, through theoretical analysis and practical research of urban and rural development to find the root cause, then to seek the effective way to solve the problems, thus fundamentally change the situation of intersected structure of urban and rural areas, narrow the urban-rural gap, and finally achieve the harmonious development of the society and the comprehensive development of human beings.
