Abstract

Parents corporal punishment (corporal punishment) has been one of the most controversial topics in the field of child parenting. Corporal punishment by parents is the parents use physical force intentionally causing children pain but not injury, so as to achieve the correct or the purpose of the control children's behavior, it is the parental control of children a major way. A large number of studies have shown that the phenomenon of corporal punishment by parents is common in many countries, but existing research in this field in the context of Western culture, and the relative lack of research on this aspect. In addition, the study pointed out that corporal punishment by parents will destroy the young people the quality of parent-child relationship, corporal punishment by parents potentially undermine the quality of parent-child relationship is considered to be the main drawback to the use of corporal punishment. However, the conclusion is based on a theoretical level analysis or investigation of the quality of the parent-child relationship is just a single focus on parent-child affinity. Finally, understanding the feelings of parental corporal punishment on children's behavior key to understanding how cognitive evaluation of corporal punishment by parents of children, however, limited empirical research in this field and the conclusions of different methods flawed. Therefore, this study intends to examine the relationship of our junior high school corporal punishment by parents and the quality of the parent-child relationship from an empirical point of view concerning the two dimensions of the parent-child affinity and parent-child conflict, and to the Gershoff the process - background model for guidance on this basis, were investigated corporal punishment by parents and the quality of the parent-child relationship between the regulatory role of junior high school students and the conventional perception of corporal punishment by parents. Socioeconomic status did not predict much of junior high school students suffered corporal punishment of the father or mother. Affinity between corporal punishment and his father's father suffered three junior high school students was significantly negatively correlated with the conflict between their father was a significant positive correlation. Junior high school mothers suffered corporal punishment affinity with their mother's time, the same relationship conflict.
