Abstract


With the constant expansion of vocational college admissions and the continuous development of information technology, all institutes have established their own educational management information systems. All of these systems improve the teaching and managing level greatly, but also accumulated a great deal of teaching and managing data. But at present most of these information systems are on-line transaction processing system, and lack of the ability to do comprehensive analysis and decision support. And also can’t provide the classified and the deep analysis on the collected data, which makes the managers can’t keep abreast of relevant information in the face of complex situations, and there is also no real data to support the leader’s decision.Analyzing the teaching management is an important means of teaching evaluation, and data warehouse and data mining technology is one of most active braches of current Database research, development and application. The combined of data warehouse and data mining supports the necessary technical means for decision making and teaching evaluation. In this paper, after collected and read a lot of articles about data warehousing and data mining, I try to build a data warehouse and apply data mining technology on it to do multi-level and multi-angle analysis and mining on educational management data, then use the data mining results to assist the teaching decision-making, then to ensure teaching quality and improve the quality of students.This paper firstly starts from decision analysis to build data warehouse, discussing the basic theories and methods of data warehouse and data mining and researching the clustering algorithm of data mining, then combining the actual situation of educational system to apply the K-mean algorithm of clustering algorithm to analyze the distribution of student grades, and thus to evaluate the quality of paper and teaching effectiveness.Through the mining practice on education system,I have got many valuable information that help the college understand that the degree of the students on the mastery of knowledge and the links which curriculum development needs to strengthen, so that the college can better to train the students, and undoubtedly it has important building significance.
