Abstract


China’s economy continues to develop, the financial industry is the core of the national economy, bank is the backbone of the financial sector, therefore, the inevitable competition between the banking industry is intensifying. BY the end of 2006, after China joined the WTO the protection of financial services is over, therefore China’s commercial banks with foreign banks must compete fiercely . Although the ranking of China’s banking according to the scale of assest in the international banking is on the top, comparing to some European and American multinational banks, China’s core competitiveness of the banking sector need to be further enhanced.At present, the research on the core competitiveness at home and abroad is still at the beginning stage,and the theoretical system is not perfect.Therefore, how to enhance the core competitiveness of our commercial banks sector is the focus of our banking industry and theoretical professors and also is of great Theoretical and Practical significance.In order to enhance our core competitiveness of the commercial banks, we must make a correct evaluation of its present situation. So the establishment of a scientific and reasonable evaluation index system of the commercial banks’core competitiveness is of great significance. This paper is based on the core competitiveness of enterprises thory and the theory of banking competitive evaluation, combing with the special nature of commercial banks, defining the conception of banking core competence. Based on the conception, propose the Principles for building index system. This essay sets up an evaluation index system of commercial banks’core competitiveness by the Principles and then gives a brief review of the existing evaluation assessment methods to determine a good method for this paper.The author selected the 10 listed banks as a representative sample of data, namely ICBC, China Construction Bank, Bank of China, Bank of Communications, Huaxia Bank, Industrial Bank, China CITIC Bank, Pudong Development Bank ,Minsheng Bank.In the analysis process combine the the individual indicators of core competitiveness with factor analysis model. On the one hand, give comparative analysis of key indicators of each bank one by one. On the other hand, use factor analysis model, combing with SPSS, and give a comprehensive evaluation of the commercial banks’core competitiveness. Then, according to the results of empirical analysis, explore the the weak factors of the core competitiveness of China’s commercial banks, and propose ways to improve our core competitiveness of commercial banks in measures on this basis.
