Abstract
The engine is a complex machine composed of various systems and structures. As the core part of the automobile, the engine with many curved surface parts, complicated structure and high development cost is always a vital importance to manufacturers. Especially the design cycle of complex parts is long, such as cylinder head and camshaft, and the process of domestic development also exists some difficulties and limitations. Taking certain recent auto engine developed for enterprises as example, this paper researches the key technologies and methods of the engine’s complex curved surface parts digital design, and the main research contents are as follows:This paper studies the automatic tracking measurement technology with coordinate measuring machine(CMM). An adaptive measuring method based on circular interpolation is proposed through Matlab Programming simulation and path optimization, which has changed the past manual measuring method of three coordinate measuring machines. Probe can automatically track and measure alone the measured surface profile: in the part with bigger curvature the spots are intensive, while in the part with smaller curvature the spots are sparse, which realize the three coordinate measuring machine’s adaptive measuring to unknown curved surface. The application of this method into the development of camshaft can make the measurement efficiency and accuracy improve dramatically.This article also proposed modular network parallel design method of cylinder head. First establish TBS model and then according to physical significance and function, decompose the cylinder head into standalone module satisfying the design conditions.Different designers in different places obtain the parameterization of accurate module 3D digital model through sharing the network data and parallel design under the uniform limit, which provides convenience for the subsequent module with different function’s simulation analysis.According to the theories of fluid mechanics and finite element, etc., we use the software CAE with independent intellectual property of Huazhong University of Science and Technology to analyze cylinder head from the point of digital castings processes. Through the existing condition and casting technique of factory simulation, to verify the minimum 4mm wall thickness of cylinder head is reasonable, we also predict the place of casting flaw and improve the design of feed system, improving the production efficiency for the enterprises and reducing the products’development cost.Using the method proposed in this paper to conduct digital design for engine’s complex curved surface parts can make the products’development cycle short, high-quality of products and convenient to revamp. Because the engine is the classic representative of the complex parts, so the results of this paper can also be expanded to the digital design for complex curved surface parts in other fields, such as new energy, engineering machinery, aerospace and so on.
